VP Finance – Roy Watkins has more than 24 years of experience in commercial and industrial, real estate, government and institutional lending. As Commercial Sales Manager at The Bankers Bank, he managed a portfolio of industrial and commercial real estate loans in excess of $145 million and exceeded loan production goals by $35 million. As Senior Commercial Relationship Manager at Wachovia, he managed a portfolio of $234.6 million in commercial loans and over $22.3 million in deposits with an aggregate annual profitability of $5.4 million. Watkins also provided creative, appropriate service and advisory financial solutions for over 45 clients with annual revenue between $1 million and $1 billion. During his years with First Union, Watkins was consistently ranked #1 or 2 in the Mid Atlantic Region in revenue generation, putting him in the top 20% of corporate Relationship Managers. He was ranked as the #1 commercial loan officer in South Carolina three out of five years.
Mr. Watkins has also been involved in the successful resolution of foreclosed multi-family projects, the conversion of a former hospital to a resident health facility, and the sale of a terminated operating company’s assets with no loss to the lender. In addition, he has provided consulting services and loan placement services to his clients.
