VP Services – Mr. West has an extensive background in golf course management, with over 38 years of experience in operations, management, marketing, and advisory services to a variety of golf course operators. This experience ideally suites him for his position at US Land.
After completing his BA in Business Administration, Mr. West was appointed Director of Golf for Walt Disney World, the world’s largest family entertainment corporation, in 1972. He managed all aspects of the golf operations for the Palm, Magnolia, and Lake Buena Vista courses. He promoted, planned and organized more than 3,500 tournaments, averaging 500 per year. He directed six major PGA tour events and was a guest speaker for the PGA Business School.
In 1980, Mr. West represented MGIC Real Estate Development Corporation as an independent golf consultant at the Rosemont Country Club. Within one year, he turned the golf operation from an operating loss of $150K to a profit of $176K.
Mr. West became a Principal with Cobblestone Golf where he was Vice President of Operations/Corporate Services, responsible for more than 47 courses throughout the US. Responsibilities included all aspects of operations, marketing and management.
After selling the Cobblestone Golf Courses to CCA and American Golf, Mr. West became President of West Partners, consulting with investors who have been setting up new golf companies throughout America.
